All about the process of setting up and experiencing a session:
Step 1:
Send an email to info@achievemindcoaching.com so that a dialogue can commence! Please, take time and fill out the waiver as well. (It is mandatory to fill out the waiver)
Step 2:
If you're interested, a FREE consultation will be set up to establish the goal(s) for the session as well as gaining an understanding of how what needs to be changed is experienced; what is the experience of the phenomenon like through the different senses (including internal dialogue)? In what context(s) does this happen? What other relevant factors are there that need to be addressed? And, most importantly, what is the desired outcome?
This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions that you don' t already have answers for!

**IMPORTANT TO KNOW**
Mind Coaching can be done in ways that honour the sensitive nature of some challenges (aka "things that need to change'). In such cases, as long as the context(s) that evoke the behaviour/action/response/etc. and, how the behaviour/action/response/etc. is 'run' by the mind and body, change can be made.
(Please, send an email to info@achievemindcoaching.com if you have any questions or need clarification.)
FYI:
Anyone who is interested in doing a session is welcome to submit a sample of their handwriting. Handwriting analysis can be very helpful in offering insights to someone's personality, tendencies, values, etc. All that you need is a blank, unlined sheet of paper to write on and a pen. A scan, photo or physical copy of the handwriting will generally suffice.

Step 3:
A suitable time and location will be established to run the session. (Any other relevant information that comes into awareness can also be shared as it can be helpful to the session.)
Step 4:
The session!
Time to create and install exciting changes!

What is hypnosis used for? Some of the most common uses are: Resolving fear(s) and anxiety Resolving phobias (A ‘Phobia’ is distinct from fear and anxiety) Breaking habits Weight loss Stress management Pain management Improving confidence Smoking cessation Performance optimization (in any context) NB: Hypnosis (and NLP) can be used for pretty much anything. If there's a will to change something, there's a way.

What does it feel like to be hypnotized? The working state of hypnosis involves physical relaxation coupled with inward attention that is focused on something specific, or focused on being unfocused and relaxed. How someone experiences this depends on the depth of trance (hypnotic state) and what it is they are working to accomplish. At times it can feel like you’re relatively present. You could think of it as the unconscious mind working behind the scenes to accomplish what is being asked of it. At other times you’re very immersed in the process of seeking or creating experiences that can be used to make change. When this happens, awareness of the ‘outside’ world will tend to be very diminished as awareness is directed to what's happening in the internal environment (namely, the mind).

What techniques do I use?-Direct suggestion hypnosis (authoritarian style). -Ericksonian hypnosis (more conversational; 'artfully vague' to generate a multitude of options and solutions). -NLP (Neurolinguistic programming). Uses language to clarify language. Similar to hypnosis. Like hypnosis, it involves making change to the sensory experience. -Energy Medicine: EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)* Faster EFT (Faster Emotional Freedom Technique)* TFT (Throught Field Therapy)* *Each 'energy medicine' technique relies on tapping acupuncture meridian points. Typically used to help resolve emotional trauma.

How long does it take?It depends on what the focus of the session is. If someone is doing something like adding some resources for improved performance, it may only take 20-30 minutes (including a discussion on goals/desired outcome + the actual hypnotic session). If it is something like freeing oneself from undesirable habits, existing fears, or limiting beliefs, it may require a session of at 60+ minutes or, perhaps, multiple sessions. Past traumas and other long standing issues are potentially more involved to deal with as it may require gathering more information and a proper understanding of how to fully resolve the situation. There are some times when multiple session may be required, depending on the complexity. It may take multiple session for the unconscious mind to make progress and discover how to make change. Some change will happen instantly upon emerging from a state of trance, sometimes it requires becoming acquainted to a new way of being before the unconscious mind can complete the task of changing. The process of being hypnotized can happen in as little as a minute or two. Rapid inductions (not generally used in therapeutic hypnosis) can take mere seconds.
-
How many sessions will someone need?It depends on what sort of change someone seeks to achieve. Something that is long standing may take multiple sessions as (a) long standing issue(s) can mean there is more neuro-circuitry to change. (Think of it as having to 'troubleshoot' more faulty operating software and rewrite commands and programs.) Weight loss is an example of a situation that will require multiple sessions as there are often a number of factors that need to be addressed. Some fears and phobias can be dealt with in one session.
-
Can I have a bad experience? There are times when an individual can experience something called an 'abreaction'. An 'abreaction' is a case where a strong emotional reaction takes place. This can be unpleasant. It is worth noting that an abreaction can be very helpful in achieving resolution for a recurring negative reaction as the emotional charge is allowed to be released through the abreaction when in hypnosis. If an individual is dealing with more serious issues it is best to seek help from a dedicated therapist, such as a psychologist or psychiatrist.

Isn't hypnosis 'mind control'!?!No, hypnosis is not 'mind control'. At least, not in the way this common misconception would have you believe. Every one of us has something known as 'the critical faculty', which is a protective mechanism that filters out and prevents negative or misguided influence from affecting us. It is a crucial component of the multitude of safeguards the body and mind have to keep us secure and prosperous. (In fact, the critical faculty can be made wiser using hypnosis, should one wish.) It will accept appealing suggestions in a state of trance (hypnosis) as long as there's benefit and it is appropriate. This allows the unconscious mind to really shine as it takes the suggestion and weaves it into the thoughts and actions mediated by the unconscious that will tend to show up in very beneficial and delightful ways. If, however, the critical faculty senses a suggestion is either inappropriate and or ill-intended in any way, it will be rejected and a suitable response will follow. The critical faculty, along with common sense, prevents someone in a trance from doing something they're unwilling to do.
